Background

Following a deterioration of the security environment in the country, a European diplomatic mission based in Kinshasa, DRC requested NSSG provide tactical training to its security drivers to increase their abilities in employing B-6 armoured SUVs.

Solutions

Based on the client’s requirements, NSSG developed a tailored training programme focused on, but not limited to:

Increasing familiarisation in the use of armoured vehicles during routine operations;
Understanding the peculiarities of armoured vehicles and their potential use as both a defensive and offensive tool;
Identifying the principles of mission planning and convoy movements;
Training in safety-related aspects and equipment;
Providing exercises based on realistic scenarios.

The training involved the on-site deployment of a qualified trainer with a background in a European military unit specialised in diplomatic protection, as well as bi-yearly refresher training.
